I've always struggled with my own spirituality and looked in many places for the answer to who God is and what he means to me.
I'm haunted by the need to find some sort of connection with the divine and the journey has taken me down high paths and down low into dark and terrible waters. I've studied Mormons, Buddhists, pagan religions of all sorts; conducted black magic rituals in the moonlight and still I am no closer that connection that I long for, the emptiness inside that never seems to go away. Of all the people I've known along the way there seems to be a common theme. Those whom I call my friends, those whom I feel the deepest connection with, who bless me with their wisdom and guidance are themselves deeply spiritual people. They have the sort of connection with him that I long for and for some reason I cannot have. Sometimes I think that maybe there is no answer, maybe there is no God.

It is said that God works in mysterious ways and so it seems for me. It's like that joke about the guy who's in the midst of a flood and as the water is rising three different people people in boats offer to rescue him; he says "no, God will save me". He drowns, goes to heaven and asks God "why didn't you save me?" he responds "what do you mean? I sent you three boats!"

Maybe I'm not looking at things the right way, that my idea of having a spiritual connection isn't what I think it is. Perhaps God is all around me, providing me with a good home, a beautiful wife, the greatest of friends and all the while I'm peering under rocks and searching the stars for something that is all around me. He gives me good counsel through those whom I trust and confide in. Sometimes you need to "adjust your point of aim" and reevaluate things. Mostly I wanted to share my thoughts and give thanks and recognition for the gifts I have been given.

The Father gave us one Gift (Jesus)

not the first or greatest.

As we allow Jesus to be all and in all for us.

We realize He is everything and in everything.

In the spirit there only is Jesus, which

the Father sees and recognizes.

At the fall of man, the sin was death to the spirit of man and separated

man from relationship with the Father. When we are reconciled back to the Father

by being born again, our spirit is reunited with the Father by the obedience of the First Born Son.

Our soul is our will, our emotions, our desires, our mind as we mature by the

This is my first post here....

I know The Word tells us to be all things to all ppl,

So why shouldn't we see The One who is All and in ALL?

I see him on "secular" billboards, commercials, music, and everywhere!

Everything belongs to him, wouldn't You use whatever is required to save your son if needed?

Your Identity.....

Your identity is one of the most valuable things you have. Sometimes we do not think as to how valuable it really is. Like most things, we do not value what we have until we do not have it anymore. It took a long time for me to find out who I was. I tried to do and be things that I never was. You see, I was trying to create myself. The more I tried to create myself, the more I found out that I was [obviously] already created to be what/who I am. I think this is true for all of us, however, some of us still do not know it. Most of us get to some point in our life and think, "Hey, what the crap happened to me? How did I get to this place?"

In Essence, we look in the mirror and see nothing but question marks. Perhaps we look at ourselves, and see, for instance our name, but instead of seeing ou name clear, like we should, we see our name a the latest in a series of questions. we see something like Clint Winebrenner??? How did I become Clint Winebrenner? Where did I come from, how did I get to this place?

As an engineer/geek/techy, I am constantly forced to reverse engineer things. I see the end result, but I have to find out what makes the end result. In my case, it is usually some kind of computer code, or electronic hardware that needs to be understood. For instance, if you are at a restaurant and you taste this awesome dessert, you cant quit thinking about it.... You decide to you want to find out how to make it, in essence, you are reverse engineering the finished product. I apologize if you understand this and I am unnecessarily rambling on...

I think that most of us have got to the point in our lives where we are trying to reverse engineer the final product.

Whats the point of this? I am wondering myself....

You see, (and this is where I am going with this...) We will never to be able to be comfortable in who we are, where we stand, what made us the way we are, and finally who the hell we are until we find out who God is. Which poses the same question about God that we have about ourselves. Instead of looking at God and knowing who he is, we look at it like this GOD?????

So we can see that everywhere they talk about Charity in 1Cor 13, they are talking of Love, AGAPE Love!

So, We know that God is lov, and we have seen that Love are all of these things:
Patient
Kind
Not Jealous
Not Conceited
Not Proud
Not Ill-mannered
Not Selfish
Not Irritable
Love does not keep a Record of wrongdoing
Not happy with evil
rejoices with the truth
Never gives up
It's faith, hope and patience never fails

So we know that God is love. We have now defined love.

Now we know what God is!!!

I was thinking about this scripture and what it meant then I thought of the apostle Paul who was giving his testimony of how God delivered him he said

Phil 3:4-9

4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:

5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;

Paul was saying: You know As far as religion was concerned I had it all I was rich in religion no one was more holy than I was, but when I found this treasure in a field called Christ I sold all that I held dear to obtain some thing far better. I got mercy for my short comings, I got an abundance of Grace for my sin, I got a righteousness that equaled Gods for my filthy rags I called righteousness ,& I got rest for my dead works. Religion will argue and say faith without works is dead, and that is true. The problem is they use works to try to produce faith, when true faith produces works. In other words I don't sell all that I have to show how great I am, I sell all that I have because I see the value of the treasure hide in a field. let me say it another way Paul had worked his butt off in religion to try to get Gods approval but when when he was converted he preached the gospel because he already had Gods approval and he was at such peace with God he wrote:

Phil 1:21

21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

So simple, so true.
The more I ponder this, the more I fall in love with Him.
It's like when someone asks me why I fell in love with my husband - or why I'm still in love with my husband......and I begin to list his positive attributes.........He is patient. He is respectful. He is loving and tender with me. He is strong and protective. He's a wonderful provider. He's a man of the Lord. ...... The more I think on those attributes the more I fall in love with my husband all over again. The same is true with God (our spiritual husband). When I read this post and was reminded of just a few of His positive attributes my love was refreshed and my desire to spend time with Him was renewed.

Okay, So i haven't posted in quite a while. i got to admit, I have been so busy. But, Hey, NO EXCUSE! The Lord has been speaking to me so many things lately, and I want to try to share a little bit of it.......

All of my life, I have been told to love my neighbor as my self. I never understood why, but all I know is that is what i am supposed to do. Now, why would anyone go out of their way to love their neighbor? It just doesn't make sense. In the real world, your neighbor couldn't give 2 shits about you. I mean come on, let's be honest with ourselves..... I mean if I saw a woman with a flat tire, and I stopped to help her change it, there is a good chance I could be pepper sprayed, shot, arrested, or be emotionally beat to death by a feminist who wants to know why i want to continue holding women down by assuming they can not take care of themselves. maybe this sounds extreme to some of you, but I am sure if we searched fox news, msnbc, BBC news, or any other news outlet, we could find more than one example of each scenario i just described, all because I wanted to stop and help someone. These attitudes have created a dismissive culture full of cynics. Why should we go out of our way to help someone when all we are going to get is trouble fromit? This is a battle I struggle with daily. I want to manifest the Christ within me, but what happens when that is not culturally acceptable?

So, I got to dig into the word and see what Christ has taught us about it.

First things first, John tells us to love one another. Why? Why should I go out of my way to love someone? I hate the fact that people use the word love as loosely as they do... That is a powerful word, and should be dispensed with feeling and conviction. To say that I love my neighbor, would be outright lying... anyone care to disagree?

Now Christ only gave us one requirement to live..... love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.

Now, why would Christ only give us one requirement to love one another? Isn't that just a a little too simple? I think of the one who I love the most, my wife. Now I truly love her, I would give up anything and everything for her. I would freely give my life for her without thinking about it, because i love her. if you haven't guessed, I love my wife... without condition. Since I love my wife, I do not do thing that would hurt her. I don't cheat on my wife, because I love her. I do not physically, verbally, emotionally, or otherwise abuse my wife, not because its not a cool thing to do, but because I love her.

See, now here is where I wanted to kick myself when I realized this.... The reason Christ told us to Love God and our neighbors(and that was it) is because when I truly love my neighbors, I don't need laws, rules and regulations to earn my salvation. By doing things, and not doing things, out of love, I am fulfilling Christ's Commandment (Matthew 22:37-38 ) (vs 38 This is the first and great commandment.)

Back to 1 John 4:8 God is love.

Thats what the word says, but how many of us really believe it? God is always mad at us, right? How can God be mad at us? All of God's wrath for me and you was poured out on the cross, on Christ.

In Fact, If God is mad at me then God can absolutely not be love!

Some of you might be thinking i am jumping on thin ice.....

The great thing about God's word, is it explains everything....

We look at 1 Corinthians 13, or as some have called it, the love chapter....

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

But, if GOD IS LOVE, as John tells us he is, you can read the chapter like this.....

God is patient, god is kind. He does not envy, he does not boast, he is not proud.
